As of May 1, 2008, legislation has passed through the Manitoba Dental Hygienists Association for qualified Hygienists to work independently in Manitoba. For Dr. Guy Smith’s patients, this means added days of services when Dr. Smith is not in the office. The hygiene department, through our Continuing Care program, can do regular cleanings when patients do not require examinations by the dentist. We do encourage our patients to have yearly examinations with Dr. Smith to properly maintain all dental needs.
