As of May 1, 2008, legislation has passed through the Manitoba Dental Hygienists Association for qualified Hygienists to work independently in Manitoba. For patients of Dr. Guy Smith Dental Corporation, this means added days of services when the dentists are not in the office. The hygiene department, through our Continuing Care program, can do regular cleanings when patients do not require examinations by the dentist. We do encourage our patients to have yearly examinations with Dr. Smith and Dr. Davies to properly maintain all dental needs.
